每年进入9月，就到了诺贝尔奖“大猜想”时段。近日，汤森路透(THOMSON REUTERS)公布了2013年度引文桂冠得主(Citation Laureates)名单，通过学者文章被引用的情况，预测今年或不久的将来可能获奖的科学家。

汤森路透是全球唯一采用定量数据预测年度诺贝尔奖得主的机构，2002至2011年，共有21位引文桂冠奖得主赢得诺贝尔奖，特别是2011年，汤森路透成功预测了9位诺贝尔奖得主。今年是汤森路透连续第12年发布该项预测。

根据研究人员所发表论文在过去二十年间被引用的次数，汤森路透引文桂冠得主通常名列其研究领域科研人员的前千分之一。以下为今年生理学或医学领域引文桂冠得主名单，他们的科学成就以及论文被引用的高频次已经证明他们处于“诺贝尔级”：

细胞自噬

Daniel Klionsky，美国密歇根大学生命科学教授；

Noboru Mizushima，日本东京大学生物化学与分子生物学教授；

Yoshinori Ohsumi，日本东京工业大学前沿研究中心教授；

上榜理由：他们的研究推动了科学家对自噬的分子生物学机制以及自噬的生理功能的认识。

DNA甲基化和基因表达

Adrian Bird，英国爱丁堡大学遗传学教授；

Howard Cedar，以色列耶路撒冷希伯来大学特聘教授；

Aharon Razin，以色列耶路撒冷希伯来大学生物化学名誉教授；

上榜理由：他们在DNA甲基化和基因表达上取得了根本性发现。

致癌基因HER-2/neu

Dennis J. Slamon，美国加州大学洛杉矶分校(UCLA)琼森综合癌症中心临床与转化研究主任，血液/肿瘤医学部研究副主任，露华浓/加州大学洛杉矶分校女性癌症研究计划主任。

上榜理由：他开创性地识别出致癌基因HER-2/neu，从而引发了更有效的癌症治疗方法。

汤森路透预测诺奖四大关键步骤

汤森路透是怎样预测诺奖的呢？汤森路透研究服务部引文分析师David Pendlebury说：“在科学社群里，若经过分析和计算，引文可以作为另一种形式的同行评审。一位科学家发表研究成果的被引用次数越多，这位学者在其同行之中、从学术角度的受敬重程度越高，而这可以作为如诺贝尔奖这类奖项的预测指标。汤森路透引文桂冠奖是通过成熟完善的方法评估引用次数及高影响力的论文，并考量诺贝尔委员会可能认为值得认可的发现或主题。我们认为，引文桂冠奖得主对科学的重大贡献使他们在各方面都足以与诺贝尔奖得主比肩，他们只是还没有获奖。”

汤森路透中文网上对这一方法进行了详尽描述。

一、在不同领域中统计出科学家30年内的总被引次数和高被引论文数。

通过统计过去三十年里每个小领域内各个重要作者的总引用量、单篇引用量、高被引文章总数，以及领域内每篇论文的平均被引次数，或每位作者的平均被引次数，作者是否拥有多篇高被引论文等多个指标，决定哪些领域是热门领域，这些高被引作者是否是该领域的开创者，这些作者是否曾经因该项工作多次获奖。

二、评估该科学家的研究内容，发掘被引频次背后的特征。

关注他的被引频次是集中在某一项研究成果上，还是散布于多项研究成果中？发掘出哪些领域是热门领域？该科学家是否是该领域的开创者，是否是高被引论文的主要贡献？，研究成果是否在领域内具有重大的意义，是不是具有理论前瞻性，是革命性的发现还是扩展了已有的基础研究成果？确定其成果与其他候选人相比是否具有优势。最后，需要特别注意的一点是，该研究领域是否已经授予过诺贝尔奖。

三、识别重大研究成果的主要贡献者。

根据诺贝尔的遗愿，每一个奖项的获奖者不能超过三位，所以必须精简候选人名单。Pendlebury介绍说，“诺贝尔奖评委会更偏向于选择开创性的成果，而非扩展性研究成果，尽管有些扩展性的研究也具有极其重要的意义。”

四、参考同行的尊重与认可。

除了定量分析，还需要考虑到一些非研究因素。比如，相关学科的一些重要奖项往往具有重要的指向作用，可以作为诺贝尔奖的“风向标”，拉斯克医学奖、沃尔夫奖、日本京都奖、克拉福德奖等都是很好的“标尺”。需要关注的还有科学家的学术头衔，例如：国家科学院院士、外国科学院院士；或者是否在重要学术团体中任职等。此外，在国内和国际学术会议中发表过主题演讲，在大学或重要实验室中担任高级职位，以及在高影响力国际期刊中担任编委，都能为科学家的诺奖之路加分。

据日本通网站消息，汤森路透（Thomson Reuters）9月25日公布预测今年诺贝尔奖呼声较高的28名候选人名单，其中有3位是日本学者。

在医学·生理学诺贝尔奖候选人方面，因在有关细胞“自噬作用”的研究中取得重要成果，东京工业大学特聘教授大隅良典和东京大学大学院教授水岛昇在列。物理学奖方面，利用铁研制出超导物质的东京工业大学教授、元素战略研究中心主任细野秀雄入选。

汤森路透每年都会根据论文被引用次数等进行分析，列出最有影响力的诺贝尔奖候选者名单，包括医学·生理学、物理学、化学、经济学等4个领域。今年的诺贝尔奖各奖项，将于10月7日起陆续公布。
